Boys Division

DSC05634Our boys divisional classes are taught according to a solid progressional curriculum supported by skill cards and home documentation. The focus is on instruction, acquisition and mastery of gymnastics skills on all the Olympic events. The classes are one hour a week, $60 a month. Equipment available for all divisional boys classes include inground tumbling trak, pommel horse, rings, vault, full-size spring floor and parallel and single rail bars.

Division 1 (8:1 student/teacher ratio)
Boys will receive instruction on vault, high bar, pommel horse, rings and floor exercise. There are no skills required prior to entering this class.

Division 2 (8:1 student/teacher ratio)
The following skills are required prior to entering this class. They should be able to do a handstand on floor, forward roll and cartwheel. On the pommel horse – hollow/ support, strong scissor swings and Russian circles in bucket. Ring skills are hanging “L”, 5 swings and inverted hang hold. Vault skills – hurdle with arm circle, hurdle, arm circle with rebound. Parallel Bar Skills – “L” support, 3 swings above bars, 3 swings to straddle, straddle travel across bar. Horizontal Bar Skills – hanging ½ turn, 3 swings with hop hands and 3 casts with hip off of bar

Division 3 (8:1 student/teacher ratio)
The following skills are required prior to entering this class
Floor skills – Round off with rebound. Pommel Horse/Mushroom skills – leg cut with both legs, forward and backward, 10 circles in bucket, 1 circle without bucket. Ring skills – 3 chin ups, 3 swings to inverted hang, German hang, 3 sec. Drop to stick landing. Vault skills – run, hurdle with arm circle, stretch jump to stick, punch front into pit. Parallel Bars skills – from “L” support, do 3 swings, handstand on parallets, dismount over one rail in rear swing. Horizontal Bar Skills – Pullover with no spot, cast back hip circle, 3 swings with ½ turn

Boys Gymnastics consists of many physical education and fitness aspects, which every boy could benefit from for ALL sports.

Four Fitness Components – Muscular Endurance, Cardiovascular Endurance, Strength and Flexibility
Motor Fitness Components – Coordination, Balance, Speed, Agility, and Power for ALL Sports.
